Protein biologics and HCPs
Residual host cell proteins (HCPs) in protein biologics represent impurities that can elicit an immune response and lower the efficacy of such therapeutics. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and Western blotting for the identification of contaminating HCPs in protein biologics.
Focus Proteomics proprietary new REVEAL technology provides unpresented sensitivity for the detection of HCPs directly in 2D gels, thus eliminating the ambiguities of Western blotting. |
